Our Weekend

Our weekend comprised of SNOW of all things, which meant lots of time indoors and comfort food.  We recently stopped by Trader Joe's, which is always a treat since our closet one is about an hour away.  It really helps to reignite our meal planning around here though...

I had heard great things about Inner Peas...and they are super yummy!  Ethan loved them...and so did his mom!  We also love the pre-sliced apples too.

We got rain before snow, but that didn't stop me from wearing my new Free People top...love it!  It's very flowy...and forgiving!  ;)

Ethan woke up to snow and could not have been more excited!

I love my smiley Wy guy!

Practicing tummy time on his precious play mat from Land of Nod.

Big brother can't help but join in on the fun!

So back to Trader Joe's...we bought the burrata cheese for the first time and wow!  It's SUPER rich and creamy...but makes for a delicious appetizer.  We toasted up baguette slices and topped with fresh basil, heirloom tomatoes, burrata, proscuitto, and a little olive oil, balsamic vinegar and sea salt.

We also tried these cookie butter cheesecake bites and they were amazing!  A couple other things that landed in my shopping cart: Lagranja wine {only $3.99 and not half bad!}, their macarons, and their cold pressed juices...the yellow is the best!

Sunday--Ethan had a playdate with his cute little buddy.

And he insisted on holding Wyatt for the 187347562th time!  ;)

Last, we tried a new recipe: slow cooker chicken tortilla soup and it was DELISH!  We'll definitely be making it again, and it's so nice to have dinner basically cook itself.

How was your weekend?

First Family Trip of Four // Travel Tips

Traveling with two is a bit of a doozy, but it's totally doable too!  Granted, Wyatt is still in the baby stage and really just lays there, but still!  I'll take it.

Here are our essentials for traveling with two:

Solly Baby Wrap:  I really can't say enough good things about this wrap.  We tried the Moby with Ethan and it was just too difficult to get the hang of.  I love the Solly because it's lightweight, soft and breathable.  I wrapped Wyatt in the wrap (hint pre-wrap before you leave the house so you're not trying to put it on in the parking lot) and he slept the entire time through the airport.  I didn't even have to take him out through security...AND I even went to the bathroom with him on me.  It was especially nice to have my hands free to help with luggage and hold Ethan's hand.

Breast Pump: When you have two on your hands, sometimes a bottle is just easier.  Not to mention, logistically, it was nice to pump before going out to dinner or pump when Wyatt was just too distracted to nurse.  Being in a new environment is tough, so having the pump was a lifesaver.

Nursing Cover: But for those times that you need to cover up, this nursing cover is awesome!  I nursed Wyatt on the plane and these cover allowed for some air to ventilate through, put also provided privacy.

Native Slip On Shoes:  While on vacation, these shoes rock.  Ethan can get them on and off and they're great for around the pool.  Supposedly they don't smell either.

Pack N Play: Great for containing baby and as a place for them to sleep at night.

iPad: Truly the best invention ever for a toddler.  We preloaded Frozen on there and he was set on the airplane!

Pacifier Clip & Pacifier Wipes: The clip is to prevent the pacifier from hitting the nasty airplane floor...and the wipes are for when it inevitably will anyway!  ;)

Hand & Face Wipes: Because, duh, traveling is GROSS!

YumEarth Organic Lollipops: Bribing is the name of the game when it comes to traveling with two kids, and at least these are organic...amiright?

Not pictured, but definitely worth mentioning:

Umbrella Stroller: So we always have traveled with our BOB stroller and simply checked it at the gate.  It kept our toddler contained and helped carry the load of all of our stuff.  We found out the hard way this last trip that strollers over 20 pounds {the BOB is 25} have to be checked.  Insert sad face.  So next time, we will definitely bring an umbrella stroller.

Swing (seriously!): This is not practical AT.ALL, but it was a major God send for us this last trip.  We actually bought one at Target while on vacation and Ryan's parents plan to bring it back with them.  It's really the only place Wyatt sleeps, other than his bassinet/pack n play at night.  It allowed us to actually enjoy our down time.

Relative: MAJOR shout out to Ethan's ggma who sat next to him on the airplane flight there...he was a sweet little angel the entire time.  And of course, grandparents, aunts and uncles.  It really does take a village and if you have relatives that are willing to travel and vacation with a toddler and a baby, I highly recommend you take them up on it!  ;)

First Family Trip of Four // Scottsdale

This past weekend, we escaped to Scottsdale with our family for out annual trip...it was our first time traveling {by airplane, no less} as a family of four.  A tips and tricks post may follow...

But I will say that the Solly wrap was an absolute necessity.  I walked through the airport with Wyatt sound asleep.  I had no problem in security, had my hands free to help with luggage and I could even go to the bathroom with him strapped to me.  #winning

We loved lunching outside...we had a great lunch at Tonto Bar & Grill overlooking a golf course.  They were kid friendly too, which is always a bonus!

A majority of the time was spent right here...at the pool!

Party of four!

Pop pop spoiled Ethan with his first set of golf clubs...he loved practicing!

Wyatt enjoyed the heat and actually getting his legs out in the sun for the first time.

Auntie Lauren and Daisy {along with Ryan and Norm were there too!}

Ethan practicing his kick boarding skills.

Auntie love!

Of course a mean game of Cards Against Humanity was in order.  Great grandma was killing it!

Our sweet little Wy Guy!

On our last day, we went to the zoo...

And saw monkeys...

And tigers!

We had a blast!  But now we are exhausted...I think I need a vacation from my vacation!  ;)

Spring Break Style

By the time you read this, we'll be soaking up the sun in Scottsdale, AZ!  We usually go every year and I'm so happy that we got away this year, considering we have a 3 month old in tow.  It will be the first time that Wyatt gets to soak up the sun on his little leggies and I am sure that Ethan will love the pool this year.

Follow along on Instagram to see all the fun!  ;)

I hope you all have a great weekend!

0-3 Month Baby Favorites

I always enjoy learning what gear and products new moms love for their babies.  And since it's been over two years since I last had a baby, I wanted to be sure to update you on my latest favorites.  You can see my 1 month favorites and 2 & 3 month favorites from when I had Ethan, in case you're interested.

Dr. Brown Nursing Pillow c/o: Yes, I received this pillow for free, but it really is my favorite.  As far as breastfeeding pillows go, I also have the Brest Friend and Boppy, but this one is my favorite.  It's angled and easy to get on and off.  AND it's high enough that I don't have to completely hunch over to nurse, which is great.
Solly Baby Wrap: I love how lightweight and soft the Solly wrap is.  And Wyatt just LOVES being held in it  It's especially great for walks
Everyone Soap: I recently discovered this soap at the market and haven't looked back.  It's great for Wyatt and Ethan...makes bubbles and has the best "unscented" smell.
Honest Diapers: The patterns are cute, they have great customer service and they're safe for the environment.
Satsuma Mittens: Best baby mittens, hands down.
Nuroo Swaddler: I love that this swaddler grows with baby.  And the fabric is super soft as well.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Diaper Bag: Gender friendly, lightweight and chic.  'Nough said.

What are your favorite 0-3 items for baby?

Happy 3 Months Wyatt!

Another month has flown by and we have finally hit the three month mark, which in our mind, is the magical month.  We remember with Ethan {you can read his 3 month update here} that this time was when things started to click into place.  Wyatt is more substantial and out of that 'new' newborn stage.
Wyatt is a super smiley baby...he just loves when you stare at him and talk to him.  He lights right up and has recently started to coo in response.  I think he's trying to keep up with his big brother...who he absolutely adores.  Ethan really hasn't missed a beat since Wyatt was born.  He loves kissing him on the head {still!}, holding him and talking to him.  When Wyatt cries, Ethan says, "Wyatt being cranky".  Every now and then Ethan will walk into the room when I'm holding Wyatt and ask me to put him down, but it's not very often.  As Wyatt gets older, it just becomes that much more fun for Ethan.

Wyatt discovered his fists this past month and can suck on them for long periods of time.  He also, thankfully, likes his pacifier and has taken to a bottle easily.  So easily, in fact, that I think he gets frustrated when we nurse and my milk doesn't let down right away.  Thankfully, my let down has been much better this time around.

Wyatt still prefers to be held over anything, but has gotten used to his swing as well.  He loves the Solly Wrap and sleeps well when I take him out on walks.  Ethan never took to a wrap-style carrier so it's fun this time around to have a baby that enjoys being worn.  He also, thankfully, sleeps well in his bassinet at night...I think we're up to seven hour stretches now!  We should probably think about moving him over to his crib soon.  Another thing he enjoys now is his baths...though we're lucky if we give him one every three days or so.

Other things this past month--he celebrated his first Easter. has learned to track us by voice or just watching us, and has possibly laughed for the first time--with his daddy.  I haven't heard it yet, so we will see if counts!  ;)  Last, I went back to work when Wyatt turned 12 weeks.  I've been going into the office here and there, but now Wyatt is with the nanny or his grandma during the week.  I still plan to bring him into the office when I can, but it's hard to balance watching him and working right now...especially because he really does prefer being held.

Wyatt is in 0-3 month clothes or 3 month, depending on the brand.  We just moved him into 2 diapers.  His hair has fully grown back in and his skin seems to have cleared up for the most part.  His eyes are dark gray, with a hint of brown and blue, depending on the light.

I plan to post on the 1-3 month baby gear we're enjoying later this week.

Perfect Spring Dress

If you're on the hunt for a pretty dress for an upcoming shower or wedding, then you should definitely check this one out.  I am loving the vibrant colors!  Can't wait to wear it myself soon.

Hope you're having a great week so far!

Our Easter 2015

We had a great Easter weekend...Wyatt's first and Ethan's first that he really "got it".  I can just only imagine how fun next year will be with two running around!  ;)

Frozen was the theme this year...and it actually snowed on Easter too!  Thankfully we had a little Easter egg hunt on Friday and Saturday before Easter...and Ethan was on a sugar-high for three days straight, yikes!

I hope you all had wonderful Easters as well!

Choosing a Headboard {and a mattress!}

Ryan and I decided that after five years of sleeping on a Californian King (a wedding present to ourselves) that we not only need a new mattress (there is a HUGE hump down the middle of ours) but that we want a traditional king sized bed.  The Californian size, while nice for a tall guy, isn't quite as wide.  With a toddler constantly climbing in our bed, the width is more valuable to us now.

Once we get our tax return back, we'll be in the market for a mattress...do you have one that you love?  I don't know where to begin, but it's true that a couple minutes spent on a mattress in the store is not consistent with the long-term comfort.  So let me know if you have a brand/type of mattress that you love!

I also want to finally get a headboard and I have my eye on this one...

It's the Mia Wingback bed from One Kings Lane.  I like that it's modern and yet still a bit traditional.  I'm also leaning towards a head tufted headboard.  If you have one that you love, let me know in the comments!

Also, if you're looking for the COMFIEST, most amazing sheets, then you should definitely buy the pure beech sateen sheets.  They are so luxurious.  We love them!

Here's a mood board for what I would love our master bedroom to look like...eventually!

Headboard // Side Table // Lamp // Sea Salt Paint Color // Mirror {similar}
Pillow 1 // Pillow 2 // Pillow 3 // Moroccan Wedding Blanket

You can see the current state of our master here.

Thanks for your input!
