This weekend was one of those wonderful, summery, get outdoors, kind of weekends. We had everything from evening strolls, to birthday parties and playtime in the backyard. I absolutely love this time of year for the long days and the gorgeous weather. Here's a snapshot of our weekend:
We started off the weekend with Ethan helping with the gardening...
And then going on an evening stroll. Wilson is so good with Ethan...gentle giant.
On Saturday, we had a beach birthday party. We were joking that all of our friends now have kids or are pregnant. Things sure have changed!
The birthday boy, Beckett! He's almost exactly one year old than Ethan. So fun to watch them grow up together.
Following the beach party, we had a fun cowgirl party...the decorations were so darling.
And the birthday girl, Gigi! She served the brownie in individual mason jars with ice cream, so clever! Might have to steal the idea! ;)
Yesterday was my brother's birthday...he would have been 29 years old. It's hard to believe he's not with us, and I am sad that Ethan will never get to know him, but I know he's with us all the time.
Sunday morning, we went for a walk and Wilson got to splash around in the creek by the house...his favorite!
And then, by far the highlight of the day was setting up Ethan's roller coaster. He LOOOOVES this thing. It's the Step2 Extreme Coaster and was a generous gift from my dad and step-mom for Christmas. The weather was finally nice enough to set it up and I have a feeling we'll be playing with this thing all summer long!
Ethan loved pushing the car back up...we need to get a helmet, STAT!
Pure joy I tell ya!
I hope you all had a great weekend!!

ReplyDeleteOur Golden is a gentle giant, too. Our toddler has poked and pulled every inch of her and she just takes it. No one believes is that she never barks!

Love the roller coaster! Mac would go crazy over that. Loving all the birthday parties. And happy birthday to your little brother...never forgotten. <3
ReplyDeleteOkay that roller coaster looks ridiculous!!! What an awesome toy! We might need one of those.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and busy weekend :) Both parties look so adorable. I'm so sorry about your brother. He was so young. The loss of a loved one, especially so young, is hard to make sense of. My dad would have been 60 today and I always feel so sad on his birthday wishing he were still around to be with us and meet Owen.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and Grant this week! He is looking down on Ethan and smiling. Love you!
ReplyDeleteHe is definitely with you girl and I know he "knows" Ethan in a very special way!! :) I miss you!! I think we need to come visit like asap....
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend! And such a great gift... a roller coaster?! They sure know the way straight to a toddler's heart.
ReplyDeleteAnd a very happy birthday to your brother. I know exactly how you feel. My mom passed away 11 years ago...long before I even met my husband and way before Mason was born. It makes me sad that she will never get to meet either of them, but it makes me happy to know she is watching down on us and enjoying "living" life with us. xo
