Jenny Lind for Boys?

Sometimes I feel sorry for Ethan.  Because, try as I might to be a good boy mom, there are times that I just can't help myself.  Sometimes I dress him up in leggings meant for girls.  Or encourage him to play with makeup.  Or...sing and dance to Disney music.   But I guess you can call him well-rounded, right?  My latest crazy idea is that I really love the Jenny Lind bed {I mean, it's all over the blogosphere right now} but I just worry that it's much too girly.

{When in doubt, always search Pinterest to reinforce some crazy idea}.

Welp, I'm pretty much convinced that a Jenny Lind bed is just as appropriate for a little boy as it is for a little girl.

What do you say...is this cool or crazy?  Let me know in the comments!

  4. I think it's adorable for a boy! When are you going to transition him? I'm trying to hold off as long as possible for Mila, but she's a crib jumper so I can't decide. :)

  16. funny you say this because i think we are buying the bed for cc too...i can't help it and it's just TOO cute. i say it all depends on the paint color and i'm buying black so i guess i'm totally going against the girly colors...lol

  17. My 17 mo old son has a Jenny Lind crib in white. I was afraid when I was pregnant (hormones) that it was too girly, but it fits his nautical room perfectly. Plus, I've seen people who have painted them crazy colors for the next children, so if you have a girl paint it hot pink or neon yellow! p.s. he wears leggings too!

  21. Totally doable for boys! I love it! The navy or black options are both awesome. I bet a bright green or yellow would also be great.

  22. Yes, it totally is!!! As soon as I saw this post title, I was going to suggest that room by Amber Interiors! You can totally pull it off and make it suited for a king! ;) We could not be happier with the bed, it was so easy to put together & very sturdy!

  24. Hmm I am on the fence. In navy I say yes...in white...idk. But wait is this little baby transitioning out of his crib already?!

  25. Yes. Love the navy. I feel like you can totally get away with that. And what Laura said...is Ethan going to a big boy bed???

  26. Love it for a little boy! Dare I say, even more so than for a little girl?

  27. We have an old one that we bought for Sydney and are planning to refinish in a link color. I think if you get one and do it in a really cool blue, black, or grey that it could really work!

  29. i was JUST looking at the jenny lind bed for my little boy and was thinking to myself if it was too girly and how i could "man it up". i currently have the navy hemnes dresser from ikea so i'm not sure how to coordinate the jenny lind with this and what color. can i make it somewhat sporty? i'm so confused! ;) thanks for the inspiration pics! :)

  31. Okay just last night I was having the same dilemma, I saw one on CL and didn't email them since I thought it was too girly! I love these shots and you totally convinced me! I love it and blue and that was the color I wanted to paint it! Can't wait to see E's big boy room! XO!

  32. Love the bed. Prefer the darker colors for boys, regardless of style to be honest. White works depending on bedding.

  33. You have been reading my mind! I've been eyeing them for Sam as well.

  34. I think your Pinspirations have me totally convinced! Especially in the blue! FWIW, I was going to get the Jenny Lind crib even if we were having a boy. I told myself I would paint it grey or get the black one if it had been the case. Go for it! It will be great!
