Get ready for some picture overload!
We had a blast in Hawaii...it was a perfect blend of relaxing and family time. Ethan was in love with the soft sand at the beach as well as the fun pools at the Grand Wailea. We saw lots of whales and enjoyed sunshine and a little rain too.
As I said above, we stayed at the Grand Wailea...specifically the Ho'olei Villas behind the Grand Wailea. It was the best of both worlds as we had a kitchen and room for Ethan to run around but we also had access to the pools and amenities at the resort.
Our view from the lainai at our villa.
The beach outside the Grand Wailea.
This kid loved the beach...and throwing sand!
His hair got so curly...loved it!
So happy!
Ethan refused to wear his sunglasses...this is the best shot I could get!
Hat // Swim Trunks
We knew it was time for a nap when he decided to lie down in the sand. ;)
By far one of the better decisions we made was to bring along this awesome floaty. Ethan loved it and practiced kicking and blowing bubbles. Plus it provided some shade which was a bonus.
The best shot I could get of the humpback breaching.
It was really neat being there with Ryan's siblings, parents and grandmother...along with all of the significant others. Lots of aunts and uncles to love up on Ethan too!
Our amazing dinner at Hali'maile General Store. We also enjoyed Monkeypod {great late night happy hour!}, Longhi's, Maui Brick Oven Pizza {all gluten-free!}, and Maui Thai Bistro.
Towards the end of our trip, we had some rain, so we decided to go to the aquarium. I was super impressed with the shark tank and Ethan was equally as mesmerized! You can get through it in about an hour or so, so it's a quick trip.
Overall, it was an amazing trip! I highly recommend it for families...everyone is just so friendly and there are tons of kid-friendly activities.
I'll be posting later this week on tips for traveling with a toddler and baby items we especially loved for a tropical getaway.
If you have any other questions about traveling to Maui, let me know!

I'm so glad you guys had such a great time! It looks beautiful!!! I could definitely use a trip to plant my butt in the sand and enjoy the sunshine. Wait, I mean chase around a crazy toddler who will probably be eating chunks of sand and trying to dive head first into the ocean. Yeah, that. : )
