I cannot believe Christmas is almost a week away...where has the time gone?! I always feel like I'm just getting into the holiday spirit just as Christmas is here...all I want to do is watch Christmas movies and bake now! Too bad I only have a week left to do it {or maybe that's a good thing?!}.
I thought I'd share another baked goodie I made recently. They didn't turn out as "cute" as I had hoped, but they were darn good!
Yep...pretty ugly! But if you had a little more time and patience, these would look as good as they tasted!
I got the recipe from Better Homes & Gardens. The combo of red velvet and peppermint was perfection!
The only difference I made was that I rolled the peppermint cream cheese sides with sprinkles. Super festive!
Did you bake anything fun over the weekend? Don't forget to link up to our holiday recipe party here!
I'll be sharing my favorite recipes this Friday! And TOMORROW is the holiday vignette linky party over at A Thoughtful Place! Feel free to share any holiday decor you have around the house. :)
I also wanted to share a couple pictures from a little shindig we threw this past weekend. I ended up having some sort of stomach bug, but it didn't stop us from having a good time!
The mamas! Our parties sure have changed!
And Jane made it too!
Of course, I didn't get a picture of our family of 3 {fail!}, but considering how I felt, I won't complain! Ethan on the other hand, did so well! Everyone was holding him and he didn't fuss once. Seriously...the kid was up for over 7 hours straight...crazy!
Did you go to and fun holiday parties this weekend?

And I would be remiss to not mention that despite the festivities of the season, my heart is so heavy for those families that lost a loved one this past Friday. As a new mom, I simply cannot fathom the deep sorrow of losing a child. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
No baking here this weekend, but I hope to make Christmas cookies for some of the neighbors this weekend. Sorry about the stomach bug. Hope it's gone now and you're all better.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I think they turned out beautifully! I don't know what you are talking about that they aren't cute. :) Have a wonderful Christmas holiday with little man and ps, can I look as good as you with a stomach bug?! haha

ReplyDeleteDarling photos. No baking but I did make chili for a crowd. Nice with the rainy weather.
ReplyDeleteYour dessert looks awesome.
Those look great! They aren't ugly at all! Red velvet is my absolute favorite!
ReplyDeleteThose a not ugly! I would gobble them up. I'm pretty sure there is nothing really better than whoopie pies!
ReplyDeleteThose sound super yummy! Mine would probably look all lumpy too ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a trooper you are for having a shindig with a stomach bug!
Aww mama parties! how fun. Ethan staying up 7 hours w/o a fuss impressive. My son (2months) can only stay up 2hours max and then he is a fuss-monster. BTW, the snacks look yummy!!
