I really appreciate it when other bloggers post their "must have" items for baby, so I wanted to return the favor and list the things that we have loved in Ethan's first month.
Wipe Warmer: I know a lot of people think this is overrated, but when Ethan is fussing on the changing table, the warm wipes really do seem to pacify him a bit. Plus, this makes for a nice container to keep the wipes in.
Cradle 'N Swing: Ethan LOVES his swing...I can't say enough good things about it. He loves looking up at the birds and his reflection {their is a mirror by the mobile} and he also sleeps well in it. Great for me too so I can do dishes or fold laundry as he swings away.
Mittens: The Satsuma brand are the very best. They are super soft and stay put on his hands. I don't think Ethan would be able to calm down and sleep half the time without these guys.
Itzbeen Timer: This timer has been a lifesaver, especially in the early sleep-deprived days. It tracks his last diaper change, feeding, sleep and etc. It has definitely helped me feel sane and confident knowing Ethan hasn't gone too long in between diaper changes and nursing, especially in the middle of the night.
Boppy Pillow: A must for nursing! I also like the Brest Friend...both have made nursing a breeze.
Wubbanub Pacifier: Ethan loves the Soothie pacifiers and the Wubbanub is a great invention with the little animal attached. I think he'll grow to love it even more as he gets control of his hands.
Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover: Another must...this cover makes nursing in a group setting tolerable. It has a wire inserted at the top so you can see baby nurse and get great airflow as well. It is much better than throwing a blanker over your shoulder.
Aden + Anais Swaddles: Everyone raves about them and I am no exception. These muslin blankets are light and breathable...perfect for this time of year. Ethan sleeps best when he's wrapped up in a little baby burrito.
Mustela Bath Time Essentials: This is a great starter kit for baby. It includes wipes for his face and body and a no-rinse cleaner which is perfect for sponge baths. I also love the smell!
Lanolin: This has saved my nipples while breastfeeding. I've literally had zero issues because of this product...it's like chapstick for my nipples!
Bottle Sterilizer: While we don't bottle feed regularly yet, I've been using this non-stop for the pump parts. Super easy and convenient.
Boon Grass Drying Rack: Once the pump parts have been sterilzed, I use this little rack to dry them. It's cute and functional...win-win!
So there you have it...my must-have items for the first month. What are your must-have baby/mom products? Anything to add to the list?

Cute stuff! I love the swing!

What a cute drying rack! So much better than the folded up paper towel I was rocking :D
ReplyDeleteExcellent list! If you live in a cold-weather area, I would add the JJ Cole BundleMe (or something of the like). It is a HUGE help when you have to get the sweet pea out the door for a dr's appt. or something, but don't want to spend 45 minutes dressing them in layers.
ReplyDeleteso funny how "must haves" can be so similar or different! I think A+A blankets (bibs, washcloths, sleepsacks... basically anything they make) are on my Top 5. I always have one within arms reach, and now A has made them her "blankies"
ReplyDeleteI barely use my boppy, but i also usually nurse on the couch and I'm still pretty small up top... wonder if that makes a difference?? I love it though for sitting her in her in it.
Love watching little E grow!
Thanks Natasha! Keep these lists coming. They are really helpful at this point in my pregnancy. Your essentials for breastfeeding and stories give me more confidence as my time is steadily approaching.
ReplyDeleteI love reading your posts!
I need to save this under my "for the future" file. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought at first that I would just hold my baby all the time, and then unfortunately I developed a severe wrist pain condition. Then I got smart and got the Ergo carrier...so great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post! : )
xoxoxo
My list would have been very similiar! I'd also say a burp cloth ... books ... playgym ... and a sling! I'll use the sling even more at home with my 2nd since I will be moving around with my toddler so much.

Great list happy to say we have almost everything on here!!
ReplyDeleteHa, we own (and I have one put away for Katie to take to college with her) the boon grass drying rack...it is perfect for drying Camelbaks and the straws! LOL I purchased mine after seeing one on Ashli's blog.
ReplyDeleteLove this list! :) I am on the lookout for as many of these as possible in the next few weeks! Can't believe your little man is already 1 month!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great weekend!
xo
Thanks so much Natasha for posting this! With my little guy here in less than 4 weeks I love these lists! And so glad to hear nursing is going so well, I hope it goes the same for me! Little Ethan is just too sweet!!
ReplyDeleteThe swing saved my life. Saved it. Mila wouldn't nap in her crib for the first 2 months, so yeah. I was in love with the swing. Haha.
ReplyDeleteThis list is so helpful for us soon to be first time moms!
ReplyDeleteThese are now my favorite posts - who would have ever thought!! haha.
ReplyDeleteI have seen A+A reviews everywhere, so I had to order some. I can't wait to get them this weekend.
As for everything else, I think I put pretty much all of it on our registry - thanks for posting this!
with less than 2 months to go, this is so helpful!! i have a boppy and was also told to get a brest friend, so im glad you said you liked both. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips! I cant wait to use it!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! Kaden loves that pacifier too and I've been meaning to get him a animal for it. Where did you get yours?
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I'm still obsessed with mustella for sterling and loved my little lamb swing as well.
ReplyDeleteJust reading this now after reading your 4-5 month list. I just did a post yesterday on my First month must haves. We have some overlapping items but I wish I had thought to add a few that you listed. I'm definitely looking ahead to your next list to see what I need! :-)
