Happy March!
We've had about one month to let the news sink in that we're expecting a boy! And as you would expect, I've been furiously pinning away on Pinterest...trying to seek out inspiration and a color scheme. I had to switch gears in my mind...though I was totally open to the gender, it was clear I had been pinning slightly more feminine ideas. Boys are a little harder...I want something more modern and sophisticated, not too babyish.
We've officially ordered the crib and mattress, which I will save for a fun reveal, but now I feel like things are officially underway...so it's time to start making decisions! Here are some nurseries that have been a huge source of inspiration:

I'm pretty much in love with everything about this nursery! From the color scheme, to the crib {which is discontinued, btw}, to the whales on the chandelier and pillow, and the adorable map letters. It has everything I am looking for in our nursery!

This nursery has a similar color scheme and overall vibe as the last. I love the curtains and the cute pillow! I would also love to mimic the striped walls.

I'm totally digging the mix of patterns and how whimsical this space is. And again, it has the adorable blue, gray and orange color scheme that I'm digging!
{via}
Again, loving the gray striped walls and adore this rug! It's on my list! :)

There is a lot to love in this nursery! I can just imagine swapping the yellow out for orange. I also love the idea of creating a striped piece of artwork, which is featured through the link.

I'm not sure if we will be able to fit a rocker in the room, but I love this orange guy for something smaller. Also loving the wall color.

How cuuuuute is this little dachshund light?! Also loving the chevron rug and crib!
The bedding is what's stumping me the most! I really don't want to have a matchy crib set, so I'm thinking I'll just got for a crib sheet and skirt {no bumper}. Have you scoped out anything you love?
Oh and just so you can picture which room we're transforming, it's this guest bedroom.
We've got our work cut out...but I'm excited to get started!

I love the incorporation of the orange! Orange + blue or Orange + green I would have used a lot of if we had a boy!

Love your inspiration photos! I have no doubt that Baby Schue's nursery will be perfect. :) Can't wait to see the crib you ordered!
ReplyDeleteLove the inspirations! Something will come to you as far as the bedding! It's going to look great!
ReplyDeleteNatasha, have you been to www.babybedding.com? They have a more modern bedding & an option to design your own! Something you may be interested in!! :D
ReplyDeleteWe have such similar taste. I love these color schemes, so calm and gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove them all! What I am loving most is the trend of babies rooms not being "baby"...no more Beatrix Potter and Winne the Pooh. Something that can grow with a child makes so much more sense.
ReplyDeleteI love them all! Very soothing! Can't wait to see the nursery!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love blue and gray together. Good idea to just get a sheet and skirt. it's the same thing my sister did because bumpers have so many risks to them.
ReplyDeletecute cute CUTE! That nursery is perfection - yours will look just as amazing I'm sure!

These are all so cute and wonderful inspiration!
ReplyDeleteAll so fun! If you look on etsy, a lot of people are willing to just make one part of an entire set!
ReplyDeleteI love the first nursery-- it's perfect for a little boy! I like how it has a slight nautical theme with the whales and whatever those things are called that are hanging on the wall. I'm not a fan of overly themed rooms.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pinterest inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI love the red and blue nursery theme! I think it's a way to mix great non-gender colors! And YES I adore that dachshund light!!!!
ReplyDeletegoodluck creating your perfect nursery! i can't wait to see the guest bedroom transformation :) i'm certain baby boy schue is going to have a peaceful place to rest his head at the end of your redecorating (slash repurposing!).
ReplyDeleteawwww...lovin' all the nursery pictures! babies make me happy! good luck with this exciting project!!! :)

Love all of these spaces for inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI just love all these pictures you've posted! I love the "Tate" letters in the top picture.
ReplyDeleteI know one thing for sure... he is going to be one lucky little boy!
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful but I think the first one is my favorite! You are smart not go too babyish. They grow up so fast and you don't want to have to change the room every couple of years. We are in the process of trying to "unbaby" my son's room. Boys rooms really are harder to decorate!

I love the grey striped wall and turquoise rug in that middle picture. The colors look so good together. Can't wait to see what you put together :)
ReplyDeleteStay in the Lines
LOVE the color scheme you're going with. Can't wait to see how it all turns out!
ReplyDeleteNatasha, you know what is funny? I am also currently obsessed with gray and yellow ... and red and blues together for a nursery!
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas. And I love modern. Do you have to work w/ a small space? My Max's room is a small space (although, big enough for a baby)... I actually really wanted something gender neutral yet very "baby" for him - and I was obsessed with browns:

I loved painting his walls with lambs! You can see more on his nursery at my blog.

You cannot go wrong with a tangerine and blue color combo. It is fresh and fun. So many decorating possibilities!
ReplyDeleteAll of these rooms would be so lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove all of these rooms, and I agree with you, I find that boys rooms are a little bit more harder than girls'. Perhaps is because we don't want them to look too "cute". Whereas with a girl you really don't have boundaries. Really looking forward to the transformation ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the dog silhouette pillow and that dachshund lamp! I am digging the gray and orange- I think that is a very good color scheme that he could grow with!
ReplyDeleteI actually literally love every single one of your inspiration images!! Seriously perfect! Especially that first one. Love love and can't wait to see what you come up with! : )
ReplyDeleteyou have an AMAZING eye for design and style!! i love all your inspiration pictures, especially the 1st and 2nd one. loving stripes on the walls and the light blue/orange combo. it will look incredible i know!!
ReplyDeleteThese are all darling!! It's so fun crating the perfect nursery. Good luck!!
