Mixing it up!

One of favorite design aesthetics right now is mixing patterns...it's nothing new, and yet, I am constantly inspired!  It's definitely bold, modern, and whimsical...all things that I tend to shy away from when decorating my own home.  I need to work on that...and perhaps these images will be the ticket!

Chevron and ikat has to be my favorite look right now!  And yes, I see a hint of zebra too!  :)

The stripes with the rosette pillows are adorbs!  Love that she mixed Target with PB...that's my kind of girl!

This art gallery wall of mix prints is a great idea!

Sometimes, mixing patterns can be a little more subtle...I love the floral pattern here.

This is defintiely the ultimate example of mixing...totally makes a bold statement!

I can't seem to get enough of chevron!

I think the key to starting out must be neutral colors like these white couches and walls...look how the colors and patterns pop!

This post could literally go on for DAYS, but I'll stop it right here...or else I'll be up all night!  :)

    These are all so beautiful! We recently re-did our house and took the pattern plunge! We couldn't be happier - it really adds so much life to a room!

    I love the second one with the greys and yellows - my favorite color scheme right now! And I love the rosettes on the pillows.

    I think mixing patterns looks great everywhere I've seen it, but don't know if I could pull it off in my own house!

    I love the look of mixed patterns, but it can be intimidating sometimes. I like the subtle mixes, like that green chair with the floral pillow. I also love the pink room with the yellow chevron chair!

    I feel the same way about mixing patterns. I'm so eager to do it yet I hesitate all the time. I totally believe you can pull it off.. maybe try mixing patterns on pillows first as a starter.. How fun! I'm excited for you.

    BTW, my eyes must've crossed cuz I couldn't spot the zebra print on the first pic. Took me a while..

    I'm really loving chevron and ikat lately as well! Clothing, home decor, whatever!
