Last Wednesday, I featured a super easy DIY project on A Thoughtful Place's Take Five series! She's turning this series into a weekly feature every Tuesday...definitely be sure to check it out!
This is a great project for the spring and summer, when all the birds are out and about...ready to eat! And it's so easy, the whole family can enjoy taking part in making one. It's the Pine Cone Bird Feeder and it's as easy as 1-2-3! Ready?
This is a great project for the spring and summer, when all the birds are out and about...ready to eat! And it's so easy, the whole family can enjoy taking part in making one. It's the Pine Cone Bird Feeder and it's as easy as 1-2-3! Ready?
First things first, you need the right supplies:
- A good sized pine cone
- Bird seed
- Peanut Butter (the natural kind is the best with the natural oils)
- Agave nectar or honey...to give it more "stickiness"
- String to hang the feeder
Ok, now you're ready to get started!
Step 1:
After mixing the peanut butter and agave together {if so desired}, apply the peanut butter to the pine cone. Make sure to get into all the crevices!
It should look something like this when finished.
Step 2:
Add birdseed to pine cone...in a bowl preferably. Make sure to coat the pine cone and really pat it down.
End result should look like this!
Check out these seeds and nuts!
Step 3:
Have you had any fun DIY projects lately?
