According to all the magazines...spring is around the corner and we all need to start hitting the shops for all things bright, fresh, and lovely to get us out of this winter funk. I know it's hard to imagine for most of the country right now, but I thought it would fun to preview some spring looks (while cozied up under a blanket by the fire...). So here are some ideas to look for when planning your spring wardrobe:
Gingham is a fresh approach to the plaid winter staple. I like the idea of a bright colored top, like this papaya version from J.Crew, paired with a cute pencil skirt for work.
Let's be clear...I LOVE boots and I wear them all fall and winter long. But, by now I long for the diversity of a simple flat and how beautiful are these elastic trim Ballerina flats by Tory Burch? They're on pre-sale now for spring...this could be dangerous.
As winter dissipates, we can put away those warm wool coats and bust out the light trench coat. I always look to Gap for their great outerwear. This would look lovely with a bright floral skirt and espadrilles.
How adorable is this Kate Spade flower ring? It's a great contrast from the heavier jewel encrusted cocktail rings so often worn around the holiday season.
I'm not even sure if tweed was "in" this past season, but I love the juxtaposition of a thick, heavy tweed to a light, airy lace...and how darling is this lace top from Anthropolgie?
Red lips are obviously amazing this winter, but I'm looking forward to bright pinks in spring...hot pink...neon pink...blush pink...you name it and I'm into it. Bobbi Brown is my go-to girl for all things beauty and this new spring palette is no exception.
chambray and a mini
And last but not least, I had to share this outfit...a chambray top and floral mini. I've seen this look with a beautiful statement necklace and must say I am in LOVE! Such a cute spring look...though I would opt for brown wood wedges instead of these flats.
What are your favorite looks for this spring?
Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!
